  HTML5 Supported Browsers - Does Your Browser Support HTML5?

Recently, I have noticed that many people are asking a question - What browser support HTML5? Frankly speaking, it is hard to collect all the browsers that can fully support HTML5. In this article, I will only show you the top 5 browsers that can support HTML5 (Not fully support). I hope it will be helpful to you.

Note:

1. The tool I use to test the HTML5 supported browsers is The HTML5 test, you can also use other tools to test how well your browser supports HTML5. - Other useful tools that can help you test how well your browser supports HTML5: HTML5 Please, Mobile HTML5, Find Me By IP, Can I Use, HTML5 Readiness, etc.
2. I am not be able to analyze every aspects of the browsers listed below, so I will give you the related link to see the full test results.



  Maxthon 4.0 - Score: 476

According to The HTML5 test, Maxthon is the browser that supports HTML5 mostly, it gets 476 points.

Maxthon 4.0 supports most of the features of HTML5 including: 1. Fully supports parsing rules - triggers standards mode, HTML5 tokenizer, HTML5 tree building, SVG in text/html and MathML in text/html.
2. Fully supports canvas - canvas element (Tablets, Mobiles, Desktop browsers, etc.), 2D context and Text
3. Supports most of the video features except subtitle support
4. Supports most of the audio features except Ogg Opus support

  Chrome 26 - Score: 468

Chrome 26 is the No.2 browser that supports HTML5 mostly. It can support most of the features of HTML5:

1. Fully supports parsing rules - triggers standards mode, HTML5 tokenizer, HTML5 tree building, SVG in text/html and MathML in text/html.
2. Fully supports canvas - canvas element (Tablets, Mobiles, Desktop browsers, etc.), 2D context and Text
3. Supports most of the video features except MPEG-4 support
4. Supports most of the audio features except Ogg Opus support

  Chrome 25, 27, 28 and Chrome Canary - Score: 463

Chrome 25, 27, 28 and Chrome Canary all get 463 points and are tied for the third place. The features of HTML5 that Chrome 25, 27, 28 and Chrome Canary can support are:

Maxthon 3.4.5 is an older web browser. However, it is still one of the top 5 web browsers that support HTML5 mostly.

Maxthon 3.4.5 can support the main features of HTML5 including:

1. Fully supports parsing rules - triggers standards mode, HTML5 tokenizer, HTML5 tree building, SVG in text/html and MathML in text/html.
2. Fully supports canvas - canvas element (Tablets, Mobiles, Desktop browsers, etc.), 2D context and Text
3. Supports most of the video features except subtitle support
4. Supports most of the audio features except Ogg Opus support

  Chrome 23 and Chrome 24 - Score: 448

Chrome 23 and Chrome 24 are tied for the fifth place, they both gets 448 points.

Like other Chrome versions, Chrome 23 and Chrome 24 also support most of the features of HTML5, including:

1. Fully supports parsing rules - triggers standards mode, HTML5 tokenizer, HTML5 tree building, SVG in text/html and MathML in text/html.

  Summary on Top 5 HTML5 Supported Browsers

The top 5 HTML5 supported browsers listed above are according to the test results of The HTML5 test. As we can see, Chrome and Maxthon versions are the biggest winners. However, it is not suitable to say that Chrome and Maxthon versions are better than any other web browsers. HTML5 is now being developed and is not mature enough. I believe there will be more and more web browsers that will fully support HTML5; its just a matter of time.
